How To Get Rid of Gophers on Your Lawn?
Practice, patience and definitely the ability to be consistent. Trapping gophers is a form of art. It takes practice to really get good at it. Investing in gopher traps may appear to be the cheapest and reasonable option at first sight. Track gopher activity by finding moist dirty mounds. There will be news mounds around your yard soon gradually one after another. The quicker you put a stop to the gopher the more likely they will not come back. However, once, one makes a significant underground indentation with holes for means of transportation the more likely other gophers will find these underground tunnels. In order to catch a gopher, it is important to find the "main hole"; the main hole, is the gopher mound you dig into which has the most amount of tunnels, typically more than three leading to numerous other runways. This is where your gopher comes up every single night, to travel through, in order to get to different sections in your yard. The best method to catch gophers after the main hole is exposed is to set up traps in each tunnel leading to it. Make sure after setting a trap for every runway tunnel leading to that main sector it's important to make sure to cover the mound back up. Gophers don't see well, therefore, the traps will be conspicuous enough once you set them up underground. However, gophers and moles especially are very sensitive to light and fresh air because this is there defense mechanism triggering them to cover back up there mound because a predator could have entered into it or opened it up to put the gopher at risk of being eaten. Once you set traps, cover up the main hole; so that no air or light comes in, you'll most likely catch your gopher by the next day overnight. 1. Gophers, Moles & Voles.
Gophers and moles are extremely difficult to eradicate. We have spent several years perfecting our specialized techniques that will rid your yard of these pests.
If you have gophers or moles, you can be sure they are breeding in your neighborhood and can infest your property multiple times per year.
A. Clean Out Service: We inspect your entire property carefully, and set specially designed traps in the animals' underground tunnel system.
We return to check our traps every 7-14 days. We repeat this process until all pests are eliminated. The process takes as little as two-three weeks for gophers, and as long as 4-6 weeks for moles. (No poison is used in this process. Poison has been proven to be less effective than trapping time and again.)
Price for the Clean-Out Service: $250 Initial site inspection and trap setup fee, plus $85 per animal that we catch.
(Note that most customers have 2 animals on avg., if you have many animals, we’ll reduce the per-animal fee by $15 for every 5 animals caught)
30 day Warranty: The initial set up fee covers your property for a full month after job completion- if a new animal shows up within 30 days, there will be no initial set up fee charged for us to return and continue trapping. Just call us and we'll come trap the new animal for the normal per-animal fee.
B. Monthly Maintenance Program:
With this program, your entire property will be carefully inspected twice per month on a regular schedule. We will set our specially designed traps underground within the animals’ burrows and remove the dead pests at each visit.
Pricing (we ask for a 6 month commitment)
Properties up to ½ acre…………….………$60 per month.
Properties larger than ½ acre……….. $20 plus $15 per quarter acre per month.
All of the above pricing applies to properties that are located within our service area, and are within 10 minutes of a major highway. For more remote locations we may add a small fee to cover travel time.
2. Ground Squirrel Elimination:
(Sorry, but we can't help with tree squirrels because they are protected by law)
A. Bait Stations: from late spring to late fall we will install specially designed bait stations set in the vicinity of your ground squirrel activity. The stations are and filled with a state-approved ground squirrel bait* and monitored twice monthly.
The site inspection and set up fee is $100 plus $50 per month to maintain bait levels and monitor the ground squirrel activity, up to 4 bait stations are provided. For larger infestations you may need additional bait stations. If you would like an on-site consultation, the fee is $115 and can be applied to the initial fee if you decide to sign up.
B. Ground Squirrel Trapping (Traps must be checked and reset daily by law) Site inspection and trap setup fee of $120, plus $40 per day until all squirrels are eradicated. This includes up to 8 ground squirrel traps. Expect 15-30 days for average ground squirrel problems to be eliminated with traps. If you would like an on-site consultation, the fee is $115 and can be applied to the initial fee if you decide to sign up.
*Please note that all ground squirrel bait is placed in a tamper resistant bait station, and will only be accessible to ground squirrels.
